Your care isn’t just about treating symptoms — it’s about your whole life, your values, and your goals. I bring together:
Evidence-based psychiatric care — thoughtful medication management (non-controlled), therapy, and trauma-informed approaches.
Mindfulness & resilience practices — grounded in my contemplative training in the Himalayan tradition.
This means your treatment is both scientifically precise and deeply personal.

Who I Help
I don’t put people in boxes or reduce them to labels. Brains and lives change over time, and symptoms shift as circumstances do. My focus is always on relieving the struggles you face now, while supporting long-term resilience and growth.
I work with adolescents (12+), adults, and older adults facing challenges such as:
Anxiety, panic, depression, OCD, stress, insomnia, grief, and trauma
Complex concerns: mood swings, bipolar symptoms, addictive patterns, personality-related struggles, and relationship difficulties
Whatever you’re carrying — mild or severe, recent or long-standing — my commitment is to meet you where you are, ease your symptoms, and support your brain’s natural ability to adapt and change.

Education & Experience
I earned my Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from Frontier Nursing University, after studies at the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
My career has spanned critical care, emergency, hospital, home care, and community health nursing. Working one-on-one in homecare taught me the central truth of healing: the direct provider–patient relationship makes the difference.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I served as a public health official, acting as Director of Nursing for a large Connecticut school district, where I led health strategy and crisis response for thousands of students and families.
This blend of advanced academic training, direct patient care, and public health leadership helps me offer care that is both clinically grounded and personally compassionate.

⭐ Rich Gallini, Ph.D.
I had the pleasure of working with Michael for a number of years, including through the COVID-19 pandemic. His work was distinctive for the level of integrity and sensitivity he brought to the position and to the community. He brought insight and professionalism to his decisions and recommendations, and demonstrated special understanding for community member with special needs and mental health concerns. That he was among those making decisions was comforting and assuring given his insight, understanding and consideration of these concerns - especially given the elevated issues that were experienced by students, families and staff members who struggled during this time.
More individually, I always found Michael a calming influence during difficult situations. His grounded and even approach helped individuals and families to feel heard, and validated, while presenting a positive regard. His genuine care and kindness made him a powerful advocate and a person who I valued in any conversation.
I recommend Michael highly, and feel some envy for the community and professionals who will work with him in the years to come.
I have had the pleasure to work with Michael across multiple roles in home-care for a number of years.
Michael is a kind and giving clinician with a diverse background who has always had a special ability to connect with patients. He is able to listen to needs and provide care to both bodies and minds. His care has been appreciated by many patients/ families who have taken the time to respond to agency surveys mentioning Michael by name and expressing their gratitude for his nursing visits.
Michael has excellent rapport with patients, families, colleagues and providers.
Michael has been a supportive colleague for many years and I look forward to seeing where his current educational path leads.
⭐ Lynn Jennings
Over the last several years Michael and I have worked together on a specialized team of home care clinicians and support staff allowing partner assisted living communities to address the shifting care needs of our aging population. With Michael as case manager and care continuum specialist, these communities were far better equipped to care for complex cases, thus allowing aging in place and support across a compete care continuum. Michael was skilled, thoughtful, responsive, and most notably connected deeply with many that he cared for. I will miss the level of communication and reliability Michael led with. Michael is a nurse with a enlightened mind and a huge heart. He will be a wonderful psychiatric NP and will be missed at RVNAhealth!
